Facilities in Pahang



  • Located about 15 kilometers from Kuantan City, Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport operates seven (7) daily return flights to and from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Flight booking can be made at www.malaysiaairlines.com and www.airasia.com.
  • There is also a direct flight from Kuantan to Singapore by Scoot Airlines, operating three (3) flights a week; on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with the fare being as low as RM45.00 for a one-way flight. Flight booking can be made at www.flyscoot.com.


Roads and highways

  • The journey through the East Coast Expressway or Lebuhraya Pantai Timur (LPT) connecting Kuantan with Kuala Lumpur only takes around three hours. Pahang also has an efficient public transportation system.


East Coast Railway Link (ECRL) Project

  • East Coast Railway Link (ECRL) is a railway infrastructure project that connects the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia to the east coast. The line will run through Klang Valley to Kuantan Port on the east coast and then continue to northeast of Malaysia.
  • In Pahang, the ECRL project will provide seven (7) stations located in Mentakab, Maran, Gambang, Kotasas, Kuantan Port City 1, Kuantan Port City 2 and Cherating.
  • With the total cost of RM44 billion, the railway spanning 640 km is targeted to be completed by December 2026.


Kuantan Port

  • With its strategic location, Kuantan Port is currently known as Maritime Silk Road that connects China with other strategic locations in the region. It is completed with various facilities that will attract more cargo and passenger ships across the world.
  • Upgrade works are currently being done actively. Meanwhile, the New Deep Water Terminal (NDWT) Phases 1A and 1B projects are completed and operations began in the mid of 2019. Phase 1A and 1B involved the construction of a 4.63-km breakwater, a 16-meter-deep basin with a 600-metre berth and a 25 hectare dry bulk yard.
  • The development of Phase 2 includes a 1-km berth extension, 18 meters of harbour deepening and a 47-hectare container terminal construction. The development is based on capacity requirements and future demands.
